From Don:
"I confess --I absolutely love this career.  I love helping folks and seeing them experiencing improved hearing.  I love it when family members  come along to gain a better understanding of the nature of this disorder.  Throughout my decades in this profession, I have refused to wear the starched white "doctor's" lab coat  or approach our clientele as though they were statistics.   Invariably, our clients are real, interesting people worth getting acquainted with, and I refuse to permit our office to become a stiff, formal "keep professional distance" type of business.  I may be old-fashioned, but I value the benefit of taking the time to get acquainted with the folks who come to us for help.  Most have become more like family or friends than . . . appointments!"
